I had not been to Cape Town for a few years and have been absolutely hooked after a recent short visit. The main difference for me from the last time was the way that the city centre has been brought back to life and revitalised. The streets have been smartened up and much of the fine architecture revealed in all its glory, the quality of shops and restaurants has improved immeasurably, the excellent museums and monuments are all easily accessible and the streets are welcoming and safe. The colourful Bo-Kaap district under the foot of Signal Hill (home to the mid-day gun) is easy to wander through with its multi-coloured facades and antique shops and the District Six Museum is a must-see portraying as it does the gradual destruction of this multicultural neighbourhood over the 70’s and 80’s.

to Egypt was memorable and inspiring in many ways. Spending time with my colleagues, suppliers and ground agents was precious. Our visit to Cairo has left me feeling proud as I was there to witness a piece of history in the making. We arrived on the day the elections were held and I could not believe how peaceful this town was. When we passed Tahir Square we saw a crowd of protestors, flags, and a few posters but no violence

On arrival into to Chile I knew straight away that this trip was going to be fantastic. We flew in on LAN, a very comfortable modern airline with great services and good economy seats (Business Class did look even better). From the airport we headed straight intoSantiagothe capital of Chile, for our city tour. We passed by the main square and the presidential palace - I could not believe how colourful and bright the city was and don’t remember it being so lovely.

We have just come back from the States where we spent a delightful week with my step daughter Rachel and her husband Cedric, exploring Arizona - Scottsdale, Lake Havasu, the Grand Canyon and ending up in Vegas. The Grand Canyonis spectacular and awesome and worth seeing. I have a mixed love affair with Vegas - - top hotels, top shows, gourmet dining, the city so alive 24hours a day – what’s not to like – I guess I am tempted to have a flutter on the gambling but consider myself an investor in Vegas as I never seem to win … .perhaps that is why I have the love hate relationship with the city.

I have just returned from visiting Shanghai. Suzhou, Guilin and Hong Kong. I first visited Shanghai over 30 years ago in 1979. The Bund was of course there, every person was wearing blue or green trouser suits and the highest building was about 8 stories high, the wide roads had traffic jams of China’s people on bicycles with hardly a car in sight, we were given a choice of a government hotel to stay in. I have been back a few times since and always see such dramatic changes.

Even in just Rajasthan there is such a diverse landscape from the hustle and bustle in the City of Delhi, the beautiful lakes in Udaipur and the deserted surrounds in Deogarh.
