A warm welcome in Egypt

What a wonderful start to spring, with bright sunny days and all sorts of blossom starting to come out!  It does give everyone a lift.   You see more people smiling in the streets, so I definitely think it improves people’s spirits.

I head up to Liverpool today in preparation for going to Aintree and the Grand National tomorrow, with two of our sons.  I have never been to this race meeting – in fact I used to be vehemently against it – not because I don’t like horse racing but it always seemed to me that so many horses got injured.  I think the reality, though, is that although this may have been the case in the past, with improvements in health and safety, we haven’t seen this happen more recently.  I am looking forward to it…. any tips?

It is fantastic to see the feedback from so many of you who travelled to Egypt in March.   I knew the Egyptians would extend a very warm welcome to you, and I am delighted to hear that it has exceeded your expectations.    It is said that we all have a book in us, in as much as we all have a story to tell.  Well, I have to say that the way some of you have articulated your experiences makes me want to read the book you write, if you ever do.  In fact, these comments have made me feel so nostalgic, that I am absolutely determined to go back again as soon as possible to this country I love so much.  It is a special place with its very unique and ancient sites and history.  It is a great time to go, though I wouldn’t recommend it from mid June to August if you want to see the sites.  It simply gets so, so hot.    Personally, I love the heat and the scorching sunshine but, if you are planning this as your big holiday for 2011 and you can be flexible about when you travel, I would recommend travelling in the next 6 weeks or so, or going from September onwards.  It would be wrong and totally unprofessional of me not to be honest with you.

I want to express my thanks to all of you that are booking and travelling with Bales.  I know booking and ensuring that you have got the right holiday is a very important decision.  Thank you for choosing Bales – I won’t let you down! You can be completely assured that we take our responsibility of giving you all the holiday of your lifetime very seriously.  Our dedication to this aim is matched by the precision we put into the detail of our itineraries and our service.

I am off now.  Oh, I would have so loved to go to the gym but writing and sharing my thoughts with you took precedence (excuses, excuses)!
