It is good to see London buzzing with tourism. We were up in London this weekend and it was a real atmosphere of hustle and bustle as tourists were all around enjoying the sites. Even the dreary skies have not put people off. Great for the country.
How about us travelling overseas? We are travelling – and for many of us we are making decisions about our holiday far later – sometimes with under a week from booking to departure.
I think the travel industry have followed the retail market with some amazing sales and offers. It would be easy for a consumer to get confused about all the offers on the market and what is good value. I can assure you that in my lifetime of travel – I haven’t seen such significant offers as there are out on the market and there are some exceptional opportunities to buy at a fantastic price.
This is not bargain basement – there are many top quality holidays that are being offered. For Bales we have given 15% off selected pre set tours if bought by the end of February. I can assure you we have not reduced the standards of product or service – we have just sought for our trade and hotel partners to support this by honouring bookings taken during the time of the offer. Like all sales it is to attract a greater number of people to kick start their decision to book a holiday but we cannot maintain this forever.
A holiday by many people – it seen as an essential part of their calendar year with their aspirations to see and explore new places, the need for change and for something to really look forward and of course much deserved leisure time. I know for a fact people feel a lift when they have booked their holiday.
A holiday is whatever you want it to be – for many it is time to chill out on a beach resort with wonderful sunshine. For many more it is to see different aspects of country – whether it be the scenery, culture, wildlife and historical sites. Of course I could write an endless list – for people that want to spend time in pursuit of their hobbies whilst overseas.
For myself having taken both our sons back to university a couple of weekends ago I want to book our holiday and stamp out our family time. It is a strange feeling when you become the home alone adults after having raised a family and somehow diarising family time becomes more important.
So if you are feeling the bleak dreary days are having an affect on you and you want to make the most of a great offer – we are giving you five weeks to do so.
Look forward to hearing from you
