Fancy dress celebrations

I love this time of year in my professional capacity – because so many of our overseas agents and travel partners are in the UK for a trade exhibition and in the past week we have seen a lot of them in our offices and this week we will meet so many of them at the exhibition and indeed at an annual thank you dinner we host for them.  We do this as these partners share our ethos of the passion we have for customer service and ensuring we meet and exceed your expectations. Through out the year our partners work tirelessly to make sure it happens in all the many destinations we offer.   The relationships we have are a pivotal part of delivering an outstanding service.

It could only happen to me!!! Picture the scene.  It was Virgin Holidays 25th birthday last Wednesday so many of us dressed up in 80’s outfits to get into the fun and spirit of the birthday celebrations.  My PA kindly got my outfit…. for which I have told her there is pay back on this!!   Not sure how many of you are familiar with Little Britain but for all intents and purposes in my pink tutu, my dyed purple hair… I realise I was the female version of ‘The only gay in the village’ or maybe uncannily like the character ‘Vicky’!!!   I set off in my car in my outfit and before I know it a young Muslim woman in full regalia crashes into my car.   Well I don’t even have a coat so we both get out of our cars a young 20 year old Muslim lady who is full of apologies and a 50 plus year old woman in this pink tutu.    I cannot imagine what observers were thinking or worse still I think I can!!  It may have been better if we had stuck to celebrating the birth of Bales in 1947 – somehow I don’t think my outfit would have been so ridiculous… but then I am sure Gemma would have found something equally as unflattering.

I know that some people that read this live overseas and if I haven’t put you off with the image of me I would like to invite you to experience travelling with Bales Worldwide. It’s easy – we provide all the holidays we do on land arrangements only basis and you buy the flight from your country to your chosen destination where we will pick you up and you can then understand why I truly believe and live and breathe that we deliver the best holidays and experiences in the world.

One week to go before Steve and I go on our Himalayan trek, white water rafting and wildlife holiday in Nepal but no time for the gym this week – as I need and want to take every possible moment day and night to catch up with our travel partners.  Ah, well my trainer has got me fit for purpose in terms  of my fitness so it will be one more session on the Saturday  before we fly and then I can put to the test how fit I have got .

Speak soon,

Mandy
