Ideas

I am so excited about this evening. We invited all of our staff to join us for an evening of innovation and ideas. That is, we are not presenting to staff my ideas on innovation, we are asking for their support and ideas for their innovation. There will of course be drinks and food. Multiple brains are better than one and it is really important that we do embrace everything and every idea. One thing I know , and you will know if you are a regular traveller or even a reader of this blog, that without a doubt we have arguably the greatest customer focused team at Bales and so I know that a lot of them will be thinking about how we can make the experience even better for our clients.

I believe your journey with us does not start at the airport. It starts the day you make your first enquiry, through booking and then the anticipation leading up to your departure date. Your journey I hope never ends with Bales in as much as I hope that when you come back from a holiday, you know you want to travel with Bales again. Well that may be idealistic but that is what I set my stall to achieve.

Anyway back to tonight – my enthusiasm is that so many staff want to be involved and to have a platform to explore how we can make the difference to you. I love being part of this team and their aspirations.

I cannot believe I have been back only 2 weeks – it seems light years ago since we went to the States for my step daughter Rachel’s wedding celebration. You may remember Rachel lives in Washington DC and married Cedric an American back in January. This was the big follow up party and what a party it was! Rachel looked so beautiful and you might say of course I would say that, but everyone that saw her felt the same; Glowing with happiness.

Congratulations to the Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Baltimore – fantastic canapés, special cocktails designed around Cedrics favourite football team called the Ravens, and superb dinners… followed by dancing and yes, karaoke. I am sure as soon as Rachel saw me walking to the microphone she regretted having this but it had to be done!!! I think I must be tone deaf as I thought I sounded remarkable but no one else expressed that opinion.

I mentioned earlier that I would hope your journey with Bales never ends- well I know that as soon as I came back I wanted to plan my next trip and know it would be something I could look forward to – holidays and travelling are just so important for so many of us. It is a time to be together with family, or as a couple or with special friends a time to discover new places, a time to relax and just unwind from the busy lives so many of us lead.

I do need to be motivated on my fitness again – my gym has started opening at 6, I only know as I have been told. I thought fantastic, I can go before work and sure enough I wake up at 5.30ish but do I go? I am afraid not, the thought remains as only a thought. Anyway I intend to commence with a proper trainer in August, I have to, Steve and I are off trekking in Nepal in November and I want it to be enjoyable not endurance. So next time I write this I will be on my way to being Mrs Super Fit.

Yes and next time I write this I will start revealing all the gems that were discussed tonight that we plan to take forward

Speak soon…
