Well, we won the game yesterday!! England in the World Cup that is. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if we won? I was pleased to see some of our Scottish staff watching the game- they would have to be really perverse if they watched and wanted Slovenia to win and really brave amongst so many English staff. It would give the country a real lift if England were to win the World Cup – but we have a very long way to go. .
We have all got our hopes on Andy Murray, (yes I know he is Scottish but I have Scottish blood too) to win Wimbledon – it is really sad that there is already only one British person left who could win a singles final and so early on in the tournament too!
Sport around the world is so important and is a great ‘ambassador’ for the nations. Is it good for tourism? Yes to some extent because it attracts spectators. Also we have been exposed to seeing many different aspects of countries when they host a major event and I have heard already of many people that now want to visit South Africa because they have seen what the country has to offer. That is great….. So long as they book with us!!!
We are working hard to tempt you away from the UK and travel with us. You will see a lot of promotion on our web site and in various communications in the next few weeks. We are launching a big summer sale for departures later in the year or early into 2011. It is all subject to availability so the earlier you can book the better.
I guess you know by now if you are a regular reader that a week cannot go by without something happening to me so should I spill the beans – which story to choose a weeks a long time you know!!! The one where I lost my debit card just before Steve and I flew off to Barcelona for a friends 50th birthday – certainly ensured a cheap weekend for me!!! Or should I tell you…
Oh too late dashing now.
