There is a saying that I shouldn’t have got out of bed this morning that is usually uttered when things go wrong early in the day. I however was having a good day before calamity hit!
Being the eternal optimist I like to think that everything presents an opportunity. This week when I got back to my home rail station from London and couldn’t find my car keys it was not a problem? Well, yes it was because I had lost the spare set some months ago. My very patient husband Steve came to pick me up and suggested I look for the spare set whilst he and one of my sons James went and did a proper sweep of the station looking under cars, in bushes – everywhere. He left me at home to try and find the ‘spare set’ so I went to my wardrobe to check pockets of outfits and lo and behold the wardrobe collapsed. Again not a problem.
I should just say that nowadays getting new keys is not simple and is very expensive – because of the security of the keys. However I am now back and running with new car keys.
So the reason I always think positively is that my calamities have created employment and hopefully the people at the garage and the guys fixing my wardrobe will consider a holiday… and yes with Bales! I can but try and so left our brochures at the garage to lure them into temptation.
I cannot lie – reports in our industry show that some people have been putting off booking a holiday because of the volcanic ash and the BA strike or sadly, choosing not to risk flying with BA. It is fascinating – some of you book up to 2 years in advance and some literally within days of departure. I guess that it reflects our lives but often when it is a major holiday then the anticipation and looking forward to it is a key factor alongside knowing that that holiday has been booked. Conversely – I know many of you are time poor and can only book with short notice in relation to when you are able to travel. If I say it myself, we are excellent at doing our utmost to get you the holiday you want even with as little as 2 days notice (visa situation permitting).
We get excited about helping to plan your holiday, I guess a lot of that is because we know the countries so well and of course this is vital in ensuring we provide exactly what you require and can give valuable advice. I am delighted that we are in a position where so many of our staff are travelling to Bales destinations to refresh their knowledge – in fact, a couple of examples are, Jane who have just come back from India and Sarah –Jane newly back from Morocco and they are, just brimming with enthusiasm about their experiences. That happens to all our staff that travel and makes me very proud. If you are thinking of going to a country that we feature then please let us know – I think you too will be so impressed and delighted by our staff and their commitment.
I genuinely believe that once you call us you will only want to travel with Bales and that is not arrogance – it is simply that we know that an excellent sales consultant can be a key contributor to your decision to book.
Oh and incidentally anybody that notices there is a lack of my personal fitness developments on these blogs – that is because it is not happening – all work and no fitness but I will get back to it.
I hope I have tempted you to phone us to talk about where you want to go.
Speak again soon
