I am off to the airport first thing on Monday to see a group of people off to America- we are privileged in being asked to organize yet another trip for the Bowls England Association for the Presidents Tour. There are close on 50 people going for a month – with many bowls games included into the itinerary – playing against their American peers.
I do love airports, they fascinate me – so many people all with a different purpose of traveling. A month away – wow – what fantastic trip the Bowls group are embarking on. One thing about coming back is I love being met. It could be just a day trip, but I have always loved the idea that someone is waiting for me. It reminds me of a business trip I did a number of years ago now. I was away for 2 weeks and when I got back Steve was not at the airport. I was not happy! I humped my suitcase on the underground – went into London and then got a train home. When I arrived Steve was there to meet me with open arms. I wasn’t having any of it – why wasn’t he there to meet me? He seemed surprised and said ‘why would I meet you when you drove yourself to the airport?’ Oops! Ah, well one can forget everything when away.
There is a point in the fact that one would say don’t ask a person who is doing the job to do it for their own family. This could be whether it be a Doctor or indeed someone working as I am in the tourism industry. I want to assure you all that I am excellent at looking after other people( even if I say it myself)- it is looking after me that is my problem!!
It’s Easter – many people will be going on holiday but for those of you who may be spending the time planning a holiday for later in the year, please note we are open on Saturday and on Easter Monday.
Have a happy Easter.
