Accident Prone

We are all different!! Some people live on an even keel from day to day, with no high drama … or perhaps I should say mishaps. I think I am a person that lives more on a ‘mountain to valley’ and back to the top of mountain type life!!
I have to say there is not a day that goes by without some kind of drama happening. That is good in many respects – it means that, well certainly for myself there is a good sense of perspective. Ok I will come clean … some of you may have read in my blog that we bought a new car about a month ago. Correction! Steve bought me a brand new car and it is the first time in my life that I have owned a shiny brand new car… or rather did!! So I guess after having had it for under three weeks – when I severely reversed into a stationary car Steve was wondering about the wisdom of his decision to buy me a car. Though I did try to keep the damage secret… I didn’t want to upset him I couldn’t work out how I would cover up for a missing car that had required a visit to the car hospital. I have to say outstanding service at the garage, they loaned me a car- which was an estate car- so I asked for cardboard cut out of a saloon car I could put to one side of the car hoping that magically Steve wouldn’t notice. That wasn’t to be and to my very pleasant surprise he was fine– I guess he just knows the type of woman he is married to – Calamity Jane and was pleased or appeared to be that I was ok or rather as ok as I ever am.

Life is very good and thank you so much to all of you for entrusting us with your very precious holidays … we never take your bookings for granted and continue to strive to ensure each and every one of you have the holiday of a lifetime or in the case of those that are regular customers, have several holidays of a lifetime. There is not a day that goes by when I don’t think what can we do even better to display to you our passion for customer service and care and our attention to detail is under a microscope continually to see what else we can do. As always I would welcome your feedback on something that we could do that you don’t think we are doing that would add the icing on the cake for you.

I am so thrilled that word has spread so much on our unique and beautiful dahabiyyas (small sail boats with maximum capacity of 12 guests on each) and that so many of you are now doing this type of holiday – and it is a pleasant surprise to see many of you coming back to Egypt for second or even third time to experience cruising on these boats. I myself am so impressed with the crews who excel every time that when I go out to Egypt in the next few weeks, I will ensure I visit all boats to congratulate the Captain and their crews for such outstanding service. It just goes to show if you want excellence running through every part of the business it must filter into everything you do and not least know and ensure that everyone we work alongside shares the company ethos. We all strive and have huge pride to achieve outstanding results for the benefit of making each and every holiday so special.

If you are reading this and haven’t yet ventured to go on one of our holidays I would give you my absolute word that I would not fail you and if you decide to take the plunge and find out why what is the ‘je nes’t cest qui‘ about the Bales magic, then let me know .

Yes and I guess – some may say how is the fitness training. Well more about that when I have something to report on progress.
