New Zealand Food and Wine Trail

The South Island offers Marlborough, home to over 85% of the country’s Sauvignon Blanc vineyards. Known by many as the ‘Sauvignon Blanc capital,’ the region produces some of the finest wines to taste. Acclaim is increasing for the Pinot Noir, a rich flavoured red, amongst the regions other wines; the fruity Chardonnays and crisp Rieslings.

The long and hot sunny climate, make the region capable of producing scores of vineyards. But the region is not only famous for its wine, but also its’ local poduce cooked to perfection.

Local delicacies of smoked salmon and blue cod are served in the many restaurants which line the streets. Talented chefs use the high quality ingredients, freshly grown in the region to concoct mouth watering dishes. The regions capital Blenheim, fresh mussels are a favourite to be served in many of the array of restaurants and cafes.
