My Bolivia Adventure

Bolivia, it is so much more than altitude, Andean flute and alpacas. This now land locked country is vast country surrounded by five neighbours; Peru, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil.

It is a culturally diverse country, made up of about 60% of pure indigenous people which makes it very different and colourful from many other destinations.

All I can say is it is an authentic country with mighty mountains, the world’s highest navigable sacred Lake Titicaca, many National Parks, vast white salt plain of Salar de Uyuni, the silver mines of Potosi, the Altiplano and the Yungas.

Presenting numerous opportunities to pursue your favourite activities, whether it be bird watching, climbing, mountain biking, trekking, and learning about the local culture. I watched and learnt how the local people spent their time making rich textiles and costumes, celebrating festivals with colourful decorations and music.

Spending time is such a fascinating country like Bolivia was a revealing experience, although the altitude and remoteness requires you to plan your adventure carefully. As a country that is not renowned for its first class luxury hotels, Bolivia can provide a unique, comfortable and memorable holiday.

Chantal Chenede When I joined Bales, approximately 11 years ago, it gave me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and my love of discovering new destinations. Over the years, I have been lucky enough to travel to some of the world’s most beautiful and remarkable countries. On several occasions, Bales have also given me the responsibility and privilege of being tour manager on a number of our escorted trips. I have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of being tour manager especially planning the journeys, inspecting the hotels, meeting the locals, tasting the food and wine and experiencing the culture and atmosphere of every destination. Eleven years on and I am still passionate about travelling. Currently, I specialise in Central and South America and enjoy passing on my vast product knowledge to our clients.
