I am at the airport waiting for my flight to Thailand where we will go on to Laos for a few days and then onto Vietnam and Cambodia. I am so excited! However Iain – our Sales and Marketing Director asked me politely to ensure I post a blog before I went hence the reason for doing this now!!!
It is interesting to know why any of us want to travel to certain destinations and certain part of the world- I guess for most of us – we have a top ten list we aspire to travel to. My own interest in Indochina has been fuelled by the great enthusiasm I see in clients’ feedback and by our staff that have travelled. Add to that that, as we juggle to help each other with work loads in the office – I am checking many clients travel files and seeing the itineraries that many of you have chosen, whetted my own appetite, so here I am waiting to go!!
Whilst being busy at work, always seems so much more to do before you go away, I did take time out last weekend . We were invited to go on the new Celebrity ship, the Equinox for the night. What an awesome and amazing ship. Our non exec. Director Gwyn Hughes has come from a background of very senior positions with cruise companies also attended and he felt it was if not the finest, one of the finest ships he has ever been on. Great news is that chatting with the Sales Director of Celebrity, there is a strong possibility you will see it featured with us whereby you can buy a sector of a cruise and then mix it with a land based itinerary – I think this will be a perfect combination for many of you.
Back in the office and one of the tasks I share is proof reading our brochures – oh my goodness that is dangerous as even though I am so close to the product – I can see why some of you find it difficult to choose what to do next with us – even I read it and think it is indeed inspiring with such amazing experiences being offered around the globe. No I don’t write it or put it all together – that is all done and co-ordinated by our very creative Product team and I am just so proud to work with such talent.
Oh goodness –having too much fun and now the flight is being called -so really have to go –I don’t want to be late and have my name tannoyed around the airport – it is extremely selfish to be late for a flight anyway and also excruciatingly embarrassing when you board an aircraft full of waiting passengers- yes I have done it once as I was chatting (how unusual) and lost track of time.
