Recession – what recession? My husband Steve went to take his daughter and boyfriend to Heathrow yesterday and I took his son Matthew and his new wife to Gatwick. The airports were heaving and both Rachel’s flight to Washington and Matthew’s flight to Las Vegas was chocker block. Whether for holiday or for work there was a real buzz of excitement going on. How great to report such a happy weekend as Matthew and Gemma got married on such a wonderfully hot Saturday and everyone gelled – making it such a joyous and harmonious celebration. I guess that happens at weddings it brings out the best in everyone and so wonderful to have a cause for celebration.
It is a real ‘feel good’ factor for family and friends rather like our country winning and achieving acclaim in sports makes the country so proud and lifts spirits.
I think anticipation of an event is important, even more important is of course the actual event but also the lasting warm memories of it.
At the weekend, I am not saying my conversation is limited or anything but seems that everyone does want to talk about holidays so a lot of talk about different trips that are being planned or have happened. Certainly more than one person said to me that they were glad they had booked their holiday as it becomes more a reality it almost gives some people a new lease of life and energy.
We are of course going through some challenges but at the same time some new and exciting opportunities. I believe that in business, it is often how you react to an opportunity that determines if it becomes part of your company or not.
I suppose that we can all miss some good fortunes by not realising them as they pass you by, but I do think that we, at Bales, capture the greater amount of good fortune, together with a wonderfully positive spirit of optimism – always ready to take on whatever we can. All of us here have a well founded belief in their ability to capture every opportunity and be confident that they can deliver to you, our clients. Of which I am extremely proud off!
So after a major event it is back down to the day to day life and it is because every day something different happens which makes it so enjoyable.
Speak to you again soon…
