I wish to further discuss my previous points of the importance of face to face interaction and meetings. Last week, Iain Fenton our Sales, Marketing & Product Director and I went to a travel trade exhibition in Berlin. I was in my element – back to back meetings (much to Iain’s dismay I had not even allocated time for a quick sandwich stop). We had three full-on days and evening functions. The adrenalin of meeting so many people and discussing innovative and creative ways to make our customers holidays an even better experience is my raison d’etre (combined with a supply of diet cokes to see me through!). We all need a break from routine, whether it is a work routine or the daily routine of our lives. That is after all, one of the reasons why so many of us really do have a genuine need for a holiday and to have new and different experiences. The Berlin trip energised me completely, and highlighted to me the passion and the commitment I have about ensuring that you, our travellers, have the holiday of a lifetime. It is wonderful to see the support and friendship of our business partners – whom we have chosen in the first place because of the strong and shared ethos we have.

Whilst it is a really big convention /exhibition centre with 25 large halls stretching a great distance, large enough that they have shuttle buses to take you from one hall to another – it is exciting as there are exhibitors attending from literally from all over the world.

Ok enough about this, but regular readers may wonder about no comments on my fitness progress – that is because it is negative. But in my pursuit to have variety in life and fitness – I am signed up for lot of walking trips to get me ready for the Kilimanjaro and the Annarpurna treks I am going to do later this year. A professional requirement to ensure I know what we are offering and can literally say I have walked the walk!! So we are off to Ben Nevis soon… ironic really as I am not sure I even like climbing – it is a perverse need to have a challenge and get to the top. My training really does need to start – ah well maybe soon?
