Thailand in Luxury

Operations and Airline Co-Ordinator, Neil Carpenter tells us of his recent stay at the luxurious Rasananda Hotel

Set at the base of a lush, tropical mountain on Koh Phangan, Thailand Island, lies the Rasananda, an oasis of villas and suites sitting on the unspoilt white sands of Tong Nai Pan Noi beach.

The villas and suites of this hotel, all with their own private plunge pool, combine some of the finest local material and modern technology, to create a completely tranquil and unique experience.

With two pools including a swim up bar, a signature spa, fine restaurant, champagne and wine lounge and a setting directly on the quiet beach, the Rasananda has something for everyone. Enjoy a dinner either on the beach itself or from an indoor and outdoor pavilion which overlooks the clear blue ocean, mountains and hotel water garden. Enjoy fresh Thai cuisine, prepared using freshly caught produce, setting the stage for an array of dining options. Western food is also available for those with a less adventurous appetite (including bacon rolls with HP sauce for breakfast!)

The Bistro @ The Beach serves an exclusive selection of creations, using the philosophies of Nouvelle California Asia Cuisine, with a different menu each day. The Lounge welcomes you to sample some of the 500 labels of the world’s finest champagnes and wines, whilst relaxing as you watch the day draw to a close.

Surrounded by lush tropical forests, the Spa invites guests to enjoy some of the ultimate relaxation therapies including traditional massage. Two private treatment rooms boast herbal steam chambers and spa pools lying within the mist of ancient boulders, tropical rainforests and waterfalls. Using only the finest of ingredients and elements, by resident expert therapists.

The hotel offers a number of activities for guests to experience during their stay, including hiking, cycling and elephant riding in the forest or discover the ancient temples and nearby fishing villages of the Island. Snorkelling, swimming, kayaking and canoeing are all available in the glistening waters where you can explore the breathtaking coral reefs and their friendly inhabitants.

Koh Phangan,an island located in Southern Thailand relatively close to the equator and therefore temperatures are more even annually compared to other parts of Thailand making it a good place to visit anytime of year. Although the Island has no airport it is easily accessed via nearby Koh Samui Island and the Rasananda can also provide speedboat transfers between the islands
