What a couple of weeks we have seen. History in the making. History we would probably prefer not to have as it is our present and our reality. I wanted to share some good news stories and there is a lot – not that we often hear them in the media!!!
This may seem to you minor but I want to personally thank so many of you for your thank you emails and letters. So far this month it has been a record month for receiving the number of appreciative notes. I know that email does make it easier but by the same token you have paid for the service we provide so there is no expectancy to receive thank you letters. What is so good, is that in this world when we as consumers are ever more demanding (I am that consumer!) I do not believe we would hear from you unless we had met or exceeded your expectations. I do value and care very much about every one of our clients and reiterate my thanks to you for taking the time to let us know your holiday was good…. or even ‘perfect’ as one client wrote.
In addition and I know many of you will share this – it is wonderful when you see your own staff really develop and become such a star to the business. We, as in all businesses have our share and I thought I would like to recognise them occasionally on my blog – too many to name in one go but I have selected three for this- Gill, in our Customer Services who has just escorted a tour to Brazil and I know already excelled and was much valued by the group. Rick in sales – for his indomitable persistence to try and secure confirmations for all of you that wish to go ahead with your booking … despite the much talked about doom and gloom, there are many places where accommodation is in very high demand and it is only Rick’s overseas relationships that manage to secure the almost impossible – our own version of Jim’ll fix it!!! Lastly, but not least Lynne who supervises our Operations Department and always has passion for ensuring we provide the highest level of service. Though done with a wonderful humour and manner, I know that I have to be mindful that she regularly works too many hours in order to deliver excellence.
I think you will agree that once you have established contact with us it is the staff that give you the added assurance that you are making the right decision and can for many of you is the reason you choose to travel with us – because you trust our staff to provide you with the right holiday experience.
Lastly for those that have read this for a while you may wonder about my fitness (so do I!) well though I have been very lapse I have signed up to climb Kilimanjaro and the Annarpurna trek next year… so back in to my life come my walking shoes and trainers.. I will start this week….
